Sophisticated Chic Black Matte Kitchen - The New Trend on the Horizon

Black matte kitchen
Beautiful black matte kitchen hidden behind white doors - sleek contemporary lines artfully combined with roughness of the stone wall

If you're thinking of decorating or designing your home, you should know that every little section matters and it should have its own essence and make a unity for itself, yet there should be a theme connecting it all together. While common perception is that living room or bedroom should be given extra attention, its actually the kitchen that gives us so much creative freedom.
But before you start spending your hard earned money, it pays of to get informed about the new kitchen trend that is taking over.
Say Buh-Bye to All-White/Vanilla Hues kitchens (unless you are like me - living in Germany under the tons of clouds and on the ground floor,... sigh) and come over to the dark side. The Force will be with you.

Dark, sophisticated and incredibly versatile, "Kitchen Noir" is timeless yet modern at the same time.
Well, black is never not in style,  but currently enjoying a deserved attention- specially in the subtle matte expression. You know this is why the Fashionistas are repeating themselves every year "The Black is back!"
Black matte color is unusually hip and incredibly dramatic and combined with still trendy copper and gold accessories or pendants, it will make your space ultra chic and give it a look like you spend all your savings on über expensive Interior Designer.
Yes I know, white is still the most common choice, but in addition to bright it can read sterile and in the end forgettable, while black adds drama and is incomparably exciting.
Though, designing with black can be overwhelming, so watch out for lightning - black matte color is all about light - pair those dark cabinets with lighter countertop, backsplash, light floors, some accent pendants which will reflect light. If your not bold enough to go completely black, even if you start with small (walls, tiles, appliances or accessories) will get you in the vogue.

For those who have open kitchen - pay attention to one of the most important rules of Interior Design - proportion and balance!

Enjoy, here are some gorgeous examples of black matte kitchen worth salivating over to get you inspired!

10 REASONS WHY TO HIRE AN INTERIOR DESIGNER

As I’m wrapping up my latest project of an Art Deco inspired home, my client told me that I gave her some great ideas she would never think of. As this is a sort of high end project, but still achieved for the fraction of the price – I realized that an Interior Designer should be a must for everyone, with any budget.

You know, beautiful rooms don’t happen by accident. Majority of people struggle to put a room together which is pleasing to the eye and yet functional and comfortable. Although it might seem easy, there is a lot of work, knowledge and experience in the process of choosing the right things and putting them in best possible scenario.
We have all been through this: it's springtime and something in you is craving and in desperate need for a home makeover. After you checked numerous magazines, endlessly browsed Internet for that perfect clique, went back and forth from modern to Zen style, considering also Rustical and Industrial in between, with Feng Shui elements, you finally narrow down your search to 6-7 pictures found on Houzz or Pinterest. You run to the local furniture store and see something completely different that catches your eye (which btw. is only catchy in the set up that is designed in the store), spend thousands of - which ever currency you're using - just to see that that huge sofa is far beyond what you had in mind....There's no use crying over the spilled milk - next time think about hiring an interior Designer before it's too late.
Toss aside the thought that Interior Designers are only for the rich and famous and will break your bank (well, some of them will, but hey, we don't all need to drive Bentley to take us from A to B, nice convertible Beetle will be pleasant just as). You will be amazed how much your costs, time and energy will reduce, among different benefits of hiring a professional.
When looking at the floor plans, an interior designer is not only implementing the basic principles of design like proportion, balance, emphasis, harmony, light, colors, textures, shapes, to name the few, but is also implementing YOU. Cause it has to be beautiful and functional to YOU as well as physically and psychologically comfortable.

Here are 10 things why hiring an Interior Designer makes sense and what you can benefit from.

1. You WILL save Money

Put aside common misconception that Interior Designers are for Über Rich and Famous. Your home, office or commercial property represents a significant amount of your investment, effort and money. Hiring an Interior Designer is a smart decision if you've invested a good bit of money into your home and want to be able to showcase it to look its best. Interior Designer will prevent you from making costly mistakes and give you an access to resources unavailable to you. Don't ask for free advice here and there - you can get those on Houzz or Pinterest anyway. My advice - pay for proper consultation. Unless you wanna end up with a home with a mismatched vibe.

2. You WILL save Time

There is a myriad of options out there when it comes to interior design. Think about all the furniture, flooring, light features, colors, decor - to mention the few. And when you think that they ALL have to fit together and be positioned in the right places to create the harmonious look! It's a beautiful, but trust me, very very exhausting adventure. This is why you need a professional to help you put the puzzles together and make your home look like you ever wanted to look like. It will save you endless amounts of time researching products, brands and prices. A designer will have all this readily on hand, and should he or she not, will spend time researching so that you don't have to.

3. Increase the value of your home

Having an Interior Designer will rapidly increase the possibility to turn your home into a space ready for a magazine or a showcase. If you know you want to sell your home eventually, you want it designed for resale at some point. You will need some stellar photos and there are tricks to enhance the appeal of your home. Designer will add a great deal to increased charm of your home which in return will exponentially speed up the amount of time before your home gets sold and boost up the price.
If you're selling your home, try asking a real estate agent for the name of a designer in your area.
Trust me - there will be just more money in your pocket.

4. Create a "WOW" Factor

Here is the thing - designers are just trained to think spatially and completely "outside the box"! It's just what we do the whole day long.
Interior Design's biggest enemy is boredom. Most of the houses that I see are just repetition of what I saw the cases before, perhaps, perhaps not with few personal twists. With a creative and artistic eye, a designer will push the usual boundaries, try new looks and inspire you to consider unique options which will create that "WOW" effect that you haven't been able to achieve alone.
The more unique the space  - the cooler it is.

5. Planning - simplify your life

Every project, small or large presents a challenge! And you will need a solid plan of action. A designer has the knowledge and experience to guide you through the every stage of the process. Considering the elements of design – space, line, shape, light, color and pattern, designer is trained to understand what needs to be done and when to do it.
(You don’t want to find out that that expensive artwork you just bought doesn’t get proper lightning after your electrician has already set the electricity wires in the wall.)

6. Enhance YOUR style

Everyone deserves to live in a home that brings him comfort and joy, a space that reflects who you are.An Interior Designer has the expertise to help you pinpoint your needs and style and guide you towards what looks and feels the best for you. A space that not only looks amazing but also reflects the lifestyle of the owners is not achieved by getting few tips here and there, but with professional who listens to his/hers client's needs and transforms them into one-of-a-kind home.

7. Visual storyteller

The main goal for design projects is to convey a message you want to tell visually, in a way that captures the viewer. When in interior your eye should be smoothly flowing across the room. Hiring a Designer enhances that quality because he or she understands how color, lightning, room size, scale and placement all affect how items look in a room and determine whether they will make or break a room design. These are the skills and tools that we, designers, keep in our bag of tricks to create the interiors that are as unique as you are and make your house a home.
So be excited when you hire an Interior Designer, because not only is your home going to look magnificent, but your life story is going to get told visually as communicated through design.

8. Contacts

Here are the few things you are going to miss out if you pay for a Designer. Finding a random plumber who installs water system to close to electricity...or electrician who doesn't know how to connect a few wires to install a dimmer switch...the list of these intimidating people with "this or that can't be done" is endless.
Designers have many home improvement industry contacts and are here the "Bad guys" who make sure the job gets done and that all details have been taken care of.

9. Trained Eye

What most of us don’t understand is that it takes very knowledgeable and skilled eye to create a magnificent instead of mediocre interior design. Normally designers have gone through most of the mistakes for you and will tell you what’s working and what isn’t. You want that experienced guy working on your home so you can avoid making costly mistakes. And they do happen – inevitably!

10. Unique Ideas

While you have been agonizing over your space for months, designers can give you that unique vibe you've been looking for. They will take you out of your comfort zone and open new horizons to make your home one-of-a-kind space with custom features and original details. It's an amazing journey that well-trained eyes will take you to.
